In general I feel like while this was an honest attempt to make the site better, it was done without serious consideration of potential unintended consequences and without substantial discussion. Now there are protestprotest questions and at least one user who was at one point considered exceptional has decided to leave the site based on these new rules.

I'm a bit torn as well, for all of his great work on enigmatic/cryptic crossword puzzles, Deusovi is extremely trigger-happy when hitting vote to close.
