This is the first installment of the Fortnightly Topic Challenges Rerun described here and the forty-second installment of the FTCs overall, with topics suggested and voted on here. This fortnight's topic is "Wordless Connecting Walls" (suggested by Stiv) and will span from the 1st of November to the 14th of November. During this period, we will compile the list of relevant questions and post it as an answer to this question.

In the meantime, please go and propose and vote on future challenges!

Everyone have fun, and happy puzzling!

NOTE
The suggestion is copied to this post for posterity.

Wordless Connecting Walls

A puzzle most often involves partitioning 16 words into 4 categories, often with a final connection between the 4 categories too. However, in the past we have seen impressive connecting walls that break this mould, instead using (e.g.) sheet music, cryptic clues, missing vowel puzzles and even computer code!

This challenge would be to create a puzzle which breaks the usual mould and presents its 16 connecting components in an interesting or creative alternative way, not simply as 16 individual words.

$\begingroup$ Actually I already had my musical connect wall planned out (since about 6 months ago), but ever since Covid started I haven't had the time/motivation to finish writing the puzzle. Then I saw the Fortnightly Topic Challenge which happened to fit the puzzle exactly, and it gave me the push I needed to finally complete it. $\endgroup$

  • $\begingroup$ @Stiv ... except that having 100 questions with a tag is not quite related to allowing a tag badge. Congratulations for the badge btw. $\endgroup$

  • $\begingroup$ @Bubbler Are you sure about that? Because I had 25 eligible answers prior to this and the badge was awarded within a couple of hours of the 100th question with this tag going live...? I was under the impression tags didn't qualify for badges until there were enough questions using them... $\endgroup$

$\begingroup$ @Stiv Ooh, just googled it and it indeed requires 100 questions. Then it deserves double congrats! $\endgroup$
